NATURE · DINOSAURS · WILDLIFEIndia's 'Jurassic Park' on the Sabarmati — Indroda Nature Park, a sprawling reserve of life-size dinosaurs, real fossil eggs, a zoo of leopards and deer, and riverside woodland.
Spread along the Sabarmati river at Gandhinagar, Indroda Nature Park is one of India’s most unusual and family-friendly attractions — often called the country’s only dinosaur museum and ‘Jurassic Park’. Managed by the GEER Foundation, the vast reserve is famous for its avenue of life-size dinosaur models and, more remarkably, its collection of genuine fossilised dinosaur eggs and bones from Gujarat, which is one of the world’s richest dinosaur-fossil regions.
But Indroda is far more than dinosaurs: it is also a wildlife park and zoo, home to leopards, nilgai, deer, crocodiles, birds and more, set among interpretation trails, a botanical garden and riverside woodland.
With its blend of palaeontology, living wildlife and nature education, Indroda is a wonderful day out for families and the curious — a green, surprising counterpoint to the planned avenues of the capital. Entry is by ticket; it’s a working nature and education reserve.

Fossilised dinosaur eggs.
Gujarat proved one of the world's richest dinosaur-fossil regions — the Raiyoli hatchery near Balasinor among the largest egg sites found anywhere.
The GEER Foundation developed Indroda on the Sabarmati's bank to put that story before the public.
Life-size models were set along wooded trails, with genuine fossils — eggs included — displayed alongside.
The result is a nature park, zoo and dinosaur museum in one — the capital's best family day.
Life-size dinosaur models line the wooded trail, each tied to what was actually found in Gujarat.
The genuine fossil eggs are the treasures — unglamorous until you register what they are.
The zoo section holds leopards, deer, antelope and crocodiles, with a walk-through aviary.
Trails and botanical gardens fill the wider reserve along the river.
The interpretation centre explains the Narmada valley's place in palaeontology.
It works for every age — children take the models as a safari, adults get the science.

Indroda is a large multi-faceted reserve on the Sabarmati: an avenue of life-size dinosaur models and a museum of genuine fossilised eggs and bones, a wildlife zoo of leopards, deer, crocodiles and birds, and a botanical garden with interpretation trails through riverside woodland.
Run by the GEER Foundation for conservation and education, it combines palaeontology, living wildlife and nature learning in one green, family-friendly park. A working nature/education reserve; entry by ticket.
