NATURE · REEF WALKA mainland gateway to the Marine National Park — where, at low tide, you can walk straight out across the sea bed among coral, octopus and starfish.
Of all the ways to experience the Marine National Park of the Gulf of Kutch, none is easier or more magical than Narara. Here, near Vadinar, a short causeway leads to the intertidal flats of Narara ‘bet’, and when the tide goes out the sea retreats to reveal an entire living world that you can explore on foot.
Guided low-tide walks lead you across the wet sea bed among soft and hard corals, sea anemones, sponges, starfish, brittle stars, sea cucumbers, crabs, pufferfish and the occasional octopus, while herons and waders pick over the flats around you. No boat is needed — just a forest permit, a guide, sturdy shoes and the right tide.
Magical, low-effort and family-friendly, Narara is one of Gujarat’s most accessible and rewarding wildlife encounters — a coral safari you walk to.

Narara is not a built site but a natural intertidal reef flat. For a few hours around low tide, the sea withdraws to expose a vast shallow shelf of sand, rock, coral and pools, alive with creatures that shelter there; then the tide returns and seals the world away again.
The ‘visit’, therefore, is entirely governed by the tide tables and led by a guide who knows where the richest pools lie and how to walk the reef without harming it. Sturdy footwear and care are essential — this is a fragile, protected ecosystem.
