NATURE · WATERFALL · DANGA curtain of white in the forest — Gira Falls, a broad, powerful waterfall near Waghai, one of the Dangs' most spectacular monsoon sights.
Gira Falls (Gira Dhodh) is one of the most impressive waterfalls of the Dangs — a broad, horseshoe-like curtain of water where the Khapri river drops towards the Ambika near Waghai. In and just after the monsoon, when the rivers are full, the falls thunder over the rock ledge in a wide white sheet framed by green forest, throwing up spray and drawing visitors to the viewing area above.
Even in the cooler months it remains a scenic spot, and its forest setting near the Waghai botanical garden makes it an easy and rewarding stop on a tour of the Dangs’ waterfalls and woodlands.
