Gir Somnath, on Gujarat’s southern Saurashtra coast, unites two of India’s great draws — profound spirituality and rare wildlife. It is home to the Somnath temple, the first of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas, rebuilt many times across the centuries and standing proudly at the ocean’s edge.
