ABOUT THE PLACE

A view from the statue

The Viewing Gallery is the high point — literally — of a visit to the Statue of Unity. Set within the statue at the level of Sardar Patel’s chest, around 153 metres above the ground, the gallery can hold some 200 visitors at a time and is reached by high-speed lifts that rise up through the monument.

From its windows, visitors look out over a breathtaking panorama: the broad Narmada and the Sardar Sarovar Dam, the reservoir, and the wooded Satpura and Vindhya hills rolling to the horizon. It is the most popular — and most booked-out — experience at Kevadia, offering a literally elevated perspective on the river and the landscape.

Inside the statue, the gallery requires a separate timed ticket over the base statue entry — so book well ahead, as slots regularly sell out.
