TEMPLE · DATTA · NARMADAA saint's riverside abode — Garudeshwar, a revered Datta-tradition pilgrimage town on the Narmada, associated with the saint Vasudevanand Saraswati (Tembe Swami).
Garudeshwar is one of the most revered pilgrimage spots on the banks of the Narmada — a small town that is a major centre of the Dattatreya tradition. It is especially associated with Param Pujya Shri Vasudevanand Saraswati, popularly known as Tembe Swami, a great 19th–20th-century saint of the Datta Sampraday who spent time here, and whose samadhi shrine draws devotees from across India.
The temple complex on the riverbank, the Datta shrine and the sacred Narmada ghats make Garudeshwar a place of deep devotion and serenity, especially during festivals and the Narmada Parikrama. A tranquil spiritual stop near Kevadia.
