FAMILY · SCIENCEWhere curiosity comes to play — a giant aquarium, a robotics gallery, an IMAX dome and acres of hands-on science.
Gujarat Science City is a sprawling, government-run science-education park designed to make learning a day out. Spread across a green campus on the city’s edge, it gathers a remarkable set of attractions: one of India’s largest public aquariums, an interactive robotics gallery, a nature park, an energy park, a hall of science and a giant-screen IMAX theatre.
It is built for families and the endlessly curious. Children press buttons, walk a glass aquarium tunnel beneath circling sharks, meet lifelike robots, and watch science films wrap around a domed screen. Musical fountains and open lawns turn the visit into an easy, full-day outing.
For a city so steeped in heritage, it’s a refreshing change of pace — Ahmedabad looking firmly forward.

Science City is laid out as a campus rather than a single building — a cluster of modern galleries, domes and open parks linked by walkways and water features. The newest additions, the Aquatic and Robotics galleries, are large, contemporary pavilions designed around immersive, walk-through experiences.
Older elements — the hemispherical IMAX theatre, the energy and nature parks, the hall of science and the musical fountain — are spread across landscaped grounds, so a visit mixes indoor exhibits with plenty of open-air space. It’s purpose-built for long, wandering, button-pressing family days.
