BEACH · COAST · NEAR DIUA long, golden sweep of sand on the Saurashtra coast beside Diu — among Gujarat's finest beaches, with calm waters, watersports and sea breezes.
On the coast at the southern edge of Gujarat, where the mainland meets the island of Diu, lies Ahmadpur-Mandvi — one of the state’s longest and loveliest beaches. A broad ribbon of pale golden sand runs for kilometres along the Arabian Sea, fringed by casuarina and palm, with shallow, relatively calm waters that make it pleasant for a swim and a paddle.
It is among the few Gujarat beaches developed for watersports — visitors can try parasailing, jet-skiing, speedboat rides, and camel or horse rides along the sand. Lying just across the creek from Diu, it pairs naturally with a visit to the old Portuguese island, and its sunsets over the sea are spectacular.
Clean, spacious and breezy, Ahmadpur-Mandvi is the seaside escape of the Somnath–Diu coast. (The image shown here is an illustrated emblem.)

Ahmadpur-Mandvi is a long natural beach: a wide belt of golden sand backed by casuarina groves and palms, sloping gently into the shallow Arabian Sea. Simple facilities and watersports operators line part of the shore, while much of it remains open and uncrowded.
Its appeal is pure coast — space, sea breeze, gentle water and big sunsets — and its position right beside Diu makes it the natural beach companion to the Somnath pilgrimage circuit. (Shown here as an illustrated emblem.)
