About Bharuch
Bharuch — historically Bharukaccha and later Broach — is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in India and among the most ancient seaports on Earth. Standing at the mouth of the holy Narmada, it traded cotton, spices and silk with Greece, Rome, Egypt, Arabia and Persia for over two thousand years.
Named after the sage Bhrigu, the city weaves together riverside temples, colonial-era bridges, bustling bazaars and a deep maritime soul. Today it anchors industrial South Gujarat while guarding a heritage older than almost any city in the land.
